Digital X-Ray
High-resolution imaging with minimal radiation for accurate diagnosis.
The Digital Edge in Radiography
Digital Radiography (DR) at Imperial Imaging represents a monumental shift from traditional film-based imaging. By utilizing high-sensitivity digital sensors instead of photographic film, we capture internal structures with a level of clarity and speed that was previously unattainable. This technology not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also significantly improves the patient experience by reducing wait times and radiation exposure.
The hallmark of our Digital X-ray service is the "Instant Preview" capability. Within seconds of the exposure, high-definition images are available on our radiologists' monitors. This allows for immediate verification of positioning and ensures that patients don't have to wait for film processing. In critical cases, this speed can be life-saving, allowing for rapid intervention and referral.
Low Radiation
Our DR system requires up to 80% less radiation than traditional film X-rays, adhering to the highest safety standards.
Superior Contrast
Digital post-processing allows us to adjust contrast and brightness, highlighting subtle fractures or lung lesions.
Advancing Clinical Methodology
Our commitment to digital innovation ensures that every patient receives the most accurate diagnostic interpretation possible.
Flat-Panel Detectors
We use the latest generation of Cesium Iodide (CsI) flat-panel detectors. These sensors convert X-rays directly into digital signals, minimizing light scatter and providing the sharpest possible images of bone and soft tissue.
Dynamic Range Control
Unlike film, which can be easily over or underexposed, our digital system has a wide dynamic range. This means we can capture detail in both dense bone and delicate lung tissue in a single exposure, reducing the need for repeat scans.
PACS Integration
All images are instantly uploaded to our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). This allows for secure digital storage, easy comparison with previous scans, and instant sharing with your referring physician.
Versatility Across Medical Specialties
Our Digital X-ray facility is designed to support a wide range of clinical needs. From orthopedics to pulmonology, the clarity of our digital images provides the diagnostic foundation for effective treatment planning.
Key Clinical Focus Areas:
- Orthopedics: Identifying hairline fractures and joint degenerative diseases.
- Chest Imaging: Screening for pneumonia, tuberculosis, and cardiac enlargement.
- Abdominal X-rays: Detecting intestinal obstructions or kidney stones.
- Spinal Imaging: Assessing scoliosis and vertebral health.
The Importance of Early & Accurate Diagnosis
An X-ray is often the first step in a patient's diagnostic journey. Whether it's a child with a suspected fracture or an elderly patient with respiratory symptoms, the accuracy of this initial test sets the stage for everything that follows. At Imperial Imaging, we don't just "take an X-ray"—we provide a high-resolution window into the body's health, interpreted by board-certified radiologists who understand the nuances of digital imaging.

Understanding Your X-Ray Procedure
Is the procedure painful?
Not at all. An X-ray is a completely painless, non-invasive procedure. You will simply be asked to remain still for a few seconds while the image is captured. In some cases, you might be asked to hold your breath briefly to ensure the sharpest possible image of the chest or abdomen.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers, buttons, or jewelry, as these can interfere with the X-ray image. Depending on the area being scanned, you may be asked to change into a medical gown provided by our facility.
What about radiation safety?
Radiation safety is our top priority. Our digital system is calibrated to use the lowest possible dose for each scan. Additionally, we provide lead shielding (aprons or collars) for areas not being imaged, ensuring that your exposure is kept to an absolute minimum.
How soon will I get the results?
Because the images are digital, they are available for review almost immediately. Our radiologists will interpret the scan and prepare a comprehensive report, which is typically shared with your referring physician within 24 hours, or even sooner in urgent cases.
